Article directories provide a vital service to the Internet community. They are a good source of external backlinks to sites around the web. Article marketing is a part of the mix for site promotion all over the web.
How Does an Article Directory Work
The way that article directories work is that an individual writes a quality article containing good information about nearly any subject. The article is published to an article directory. The author is allowed a resource box containing some information about himself and a link to a website.
What Is This Directory All About
This will be a general article directory. The first reason for putting this one up is to test the software that I have been offered. It is also a part of my grand Internet marketing experiment. I will follow the promotional avenues suggested.
I will use the experience here to put up a niche article directory. I have a domain that I purchased to put up a live sound wiki. The wiki software had some shortcomings as far as comment spam protection was concerned. When I got the offer for the article directory software it occurred to me that this may be an answer to this problem. A niche article directory can provide a focused knowledge base that is easy for the community to access and produce.
This page may be short lived, but it will be replaced by the offer to submit your articles for publication. I hope that you never see this page!
Update
I tried to install the script without success. I tried to check into the forum for support and was unable to access the forum. I went to the web for some help. I found that the free script was no longer being supported and that there were security problems that were unresolved. I deleted the script from the server.
There is a software package that comes highly recommended but it is not a freeware and the finances are a bit tight right now, but I did find much good information in my search. I will try to make use of some of that information soon. Check back for the big excitement.
